Selv kvinder i hijab/burka risikerer at blive raget på i den muslimske verden:
Hvorfor er det i det hele taget tilladt at køre bil i den mundering?
Psychologist Phyllis Chesler recently cited a particularly blatant example of this double standard: Fred Gottheil, a professor of economics at the University of Illinois, tracked down 675 academics who had signed a statement-petition calling for a boycott of Israel as an “apartheid regime.” He asked them also to sign a statement-petition opposing the abuse of women in the Middle East, including “honor-killing, wife-beating, female genital mutilation,” as well as the systematic “discrimination against women, gays and lesbians in the Middle East.” The result of this experiment: Ninety-five percent of those who signed the petition censuring Israel “did not sign a statement concerning discrimination against women and gays and lesbians in the Middle East.”
I know from experience that, in response to an article like this, I will be attacked from many corners of the blogosphere. So I’ll be as clear as I can: It is bigotry to assume the worst about someone because he or she is a Muslim. But is it not equally odious to draw a veil over our ability to acknowledge those Islamic practices that are inimical to such Western values as equality and free speech, and to seek to shame those who dare criticize or even raise questions? We should not meekly accept that, as Bernard Lewis, the great scholar of the Middle East, has observed,
“Islam enjoys an immunity from critical examination that Christendom has lost and Judaism never had.”

And hate preacher Anjem Choudary warned Islamic fanatics will “go to war” to protect the honour of their women.

“It is a grave offence to disrespect a Muslim woman. People have gone to war to protect the honour of Muslim women. And they will go to war again.
“Clarkson has stirred a hornets’ nest among young Islamic fundamentalists. He has fanned the flames of their cause. I believe that one day Britain, and indeed every part of the world, will be governed by and under the authority of the Muslims implementing Islamic Law.
“And it will happen. It may come peacefully. But it may come through a holy war that will see rivers of blood on the streets. Clarkson has brought this day closer.”
Choudary’s warning echoes the words of right-wing MP Enoch Powell, who made his “rivers of blood” speech in 1968.

“There are a growing number of young Islamic fundamentalists in this country and many are ready to cause violence to protect Islam.
“I would urge Clarkson to make a full and public apology to those he has mistakenly offended. Otherwise his safety could be at risk.”
The outspoken presenter provoked a flurry of complaints after telling viewers of Top Gear on Sunday night that he had seen a Muslim woman wearing sexy underwear beneath her burka.
