The city has been hard hit by the economic crisis. Unemployment is already twice the national average and over the next year could match the 20 percent rate of the 90s downturn.

But economics only partially explains why Rotterdam may see blood in the streets this summer.

Rotterdam’s demographics make it the unofficial capital of Eurabia. Its population is half non-Western or of non-Western descent. Muslims make up close to 25 percent of its population. Unskilled, undereducated, and increasingly unemployed workers abound. And segregation — ubiquitous in all large European cities — is extremely acute here. Rotterdam’s ghettos would make Hitler smile.

Because of the generosity and humanity of the Dutch welfare system — and the “sensitivity” of police and Dutch officials to Islam — I’m at an utter loss to understand why Muslim immigrants hold Dutch society in such brazen contempt. Surely life here is far better than in the places they came from. Yet few seem even remotely grateful. And being grateful means — among other things — following the rules, getting a job, learning the language, and accepting the values.

Næsten 55% af unge marokkanere i Rotterdam mistænkt for kriminalitet

Almost 55 percent of all youngsters of Moroccans origin in Rotterdam aged 18-24 have been involved with the police due to being suspected of criminal activity.

The percentage for youngsters in the same age group from the Dutch Antilles and Surinam the percentage is 40%; for those of Turkish origin it is 36% and for authochtonous people it is 18%.

This was announced by the criminologist Prof. Frank Bovenkerk on the occasion of his retirement from Utrecht University. He added that previous statistics always underestimated the level of criminality. Ninety percent of youngsters of Moroccan descent who commit crime are repeaters. For authochtonous criminals the rate is 60%.

Rotterdam is approaching the point at which white Dutch will form a minority in the city.

Based on the trend, it could have an ‘ethnic majority’ in 2012, Algemeen Dagblad reported yesterday.

On Friday night, a Muslim stand-up comedian was scheduled to give a show in a Rotterdam theatre with segregated seating for the men and women in his audience.

Moroccan-born writer and TV producer Salaheddine Benchikhi was to make his debut as a stand-up comedian at Theater Zuidplein in Rotterdam. At his request, the theatre said it would offer female audience members the option of sitting apart from the men, as Algemeen Dagblad reported several hours before the show on Friday.

The appeal court in The Hague yesterday acquitted a Rotterdam man of threatening MP Geert Wilders.

The man, who says he is an artist, set up monuments on the street for Wilders as if he had been assassinated.

A district court in Rotterdam acquitted the man, Jonas Staal, in August 2007. Like the lower court, the appeal court ruled yesterday that there was insufficient evidence of a threat. The altars did not involve “any announcement of an anticipated death of Wilders nor a reference to the way in which this would happen”, the judges stated.

Dutch politicians, analysts and diplomats met at a luncheon last week at the Royal Netherlands Embassy with a warning for several hundred of their compatriots living here (USA).

They hoped to engage in an influential discussion about what happens when a prosperous but inattentive state gives in to the multicultural delusions of the left and lets large numbers of culturally hostile immigrants enter the land.

“Today, we have 1 million Muslims out of 16 million Dutch,” Frits Bolkestein, an impressive center-right Dutch politician and former E.U. commissioner, began. “Within 10 years, they will have an absolute majority in both Amsterdam and Rotterdam. We are staring into the face of a shortly to be divided community. Muslims have the right to their own schools, so there is no teaching of evolution, gay teachers are not tolerated but anti-Semitism is, and the Holocaust is not a subject for teaching.

“Unemployment of immigrants has gone from 9 percent in 2001 to 16 percent today. Immigrants tend to marry women from their home country, and they have little contact with Dutch society except for the Iranians. Eighteen percent of Moroccan men are suspected of crimes, compared to 4 percent of Dutch men. Half the Turkish and Moroccan population believe their cultures are incompatible with Dutch habits.”

“I was born in Amsterdam,” he then said sadly, “and I resent the idea that the whole culture is to be changed. But these people are there to stay, and we wanted to draw attention to the dark side and risks of these changes.”

Other immigrant-target Western countries are beginning to get the message that Islamic immigrants in particular have not come to the West to join it, but to overcome it. One participant at the meeting noted:

“In France, the majority of young Muslims believe that French society is dying, committing suicide. More like 10 percent to 20 percent of them believe that they are in the process of replacing European civilization with an Islamic one.”
