Norsk kvinde i Dubai: Anmeldte voldtægt – dømt for utroskab

The Simon Wiesenthal Center expressed outrage at the fact that Nivea, a German cosmetics company, apparently removed from the State of Israel in the list of its client countries in the Middle East and substituted it by “Palestinian territories.”

På Niveas danske hjemmeside ser det ud til, at firmaet støtter den pædofile  slavestat Dubai

Round up the usual suspects

We find it rather telling that Hamas is still blaming Egypt and Jordan, despite all those revelations about the Israeli hit squad. The terror group clearly knows its enemies, and has no reason to “protect” Israel. Moreover, Hamas also knows how the political game is played in the Middle East and the willingness of Arab governments to use Israel as a convenient bogeyman in virtually any circumstance.

That’s why Dubai’s fixation on the Israelis is vaguely reminiscent of the film Casablanca, and Captain Renault’s famous order to “round up the usual suspects.” Obviously, the authorities in Dubai haven’t arrested anyone for the assassination of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh. But the Mossad does provide a rather convenient scapegoat, allowing Dubai to ignore other regimes who had their own reasons for killing the Hamas leader.

‘Ferieparadiset’ Dubai er ikke et paradis for alle – nærmere et helvede

Der er sikkert ingen af denne blogs læsere, der overvejer ferie i Mellemøsten (bortset fra Israel), her er yderligere en grund til at holde sig langt væk:

The parliamentary commission for Labour Affairs of the Philippines has urged the government to suspend the sending of domestic workers to the Middle East followed an inspection by three delegates to the region, who documented situations tantamount to “modern slavery”, reports the daily paper Khaleej Times.

The mission, sent by the parliament of the Philippines, visited five cities: Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Riyadh and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia and Amman in Jordan.

“We have seen violations in all three countries,” said member of parliament Carlos Padillas, explaining that “some of the victims were tricked by the employment agencies, while others suffered physical and sexual abuse from their employers.”

Abuse and maltreatment have also been revealed by Human Rights Watch in Lebanon, where there is an ever-growing number of suicides among foreign domestic help.

The director of the Immigration Department of Dubai, Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, refused to comment on the news, saying that the department had not yet been officially informed of the inspection. However, he added that if the information is proven accurate, then the Ministry for Foreign Affairs would take the necessary measures.

Afslutningen på ramadanen fejredes i Dubai helt i Muhammeds ånd

Hundreds of minors flown out to Gulf to dance in bars, provide sex, as Ramzan month of abstinence ends

For three days now, 2,000 girls, almost all minors, have left for the Middle East, particularly Dubai, to feed the needs of a population starved of entertainment and sex post the rigours of Ramzan.

The girls have been told they are being taken to dance in bars, but it is implicit that they will double up as prostitutes for well-paying clients. Another 1,000 will leave by tomorrow.

Sources say there has been an approximate 20 per cent rise in the trafficking of minors over the last year.

Gulf women enraged over Islamic ruling on strings-free marriage

DUBAI: An Islamic tribunal’s ruling that allows Sunni men to marry without having to live with or financially support their wives has enraged Gulf women’s rights activists who say Islamic marriage is unfair enough already. The Mecca-based Islamic Jurisprudence Assembly announced on April 12 that so-called Misyar marriage – from the colloquial Gulf Arabic word for visitor – was permitted, drawing the ire of women in the region.
Kuwaiti activist Rola Dashti said the move, which skirts around Islamic rules on extramarital sexual relationships and relieves men of responsibility for their wives, “destroys the fundamentals of a family.”
“The rights which would be abandoned by a woman [in this kind of marriage] are essential to build a stable family,” said Dashti, who also heads the Kuwait Economic Society.
The edict says “a marriage contract in which the woman relinquishes [her right to] housing and support money … and accepts that the man visits her in her [family] house whenever he likes, day or night … is valid.”
But by giving up her rights with such a marriage, which is usually seen as temporary, the wife would not necessarily receive a penny when divorced.
