This headline may come as a bit of a surprise, so too might that fact that the warmest year recorded globally was not in 2008 or 2007, but in 1998.

But it is true. For the last 11 years we have not observed any increase in global temperatures.

And our climate models did not forecast it, even though man-made carbon dioxide, the gas thought to be responsible for warming our planet, has continued to rise.

So what on Earth is going on?

Filed under: BBC, Islam, Journalister, Kristne, Medier DR m.fl., UK — Tags: , — Hodja @ 08:50

One of Radio 2’s most popular religious presenters has launched a stinging attack on the BBC suggesting the broadcaster is biased against Christianity.

Don Maclean, 66, who hosted Good Morning Sunday for 16 years, said the broadcaster was ‘keen’ on programmes that attack the Christian church.

He said programming chiefs were keen to take a ‘negative angle at every opportunity’ in a way they do not with other faiths like Islam.

Mr Maclean said programmes about Anglicanism on the BBC always discuss gay clergy and for Catholicism they always mention paedophiles.

The presenter, who was replaced on the Radio 2 show in 2006 by Aled Jones, claimed the broadcaster was trying to ‘secularise the country’.

moThe Sun: EASTENDERS is set for its most controversial storyline yet – when a Muslim character embarks on a passionate gay love affair.

Dashing developer Syed Masood shocks his conservative family when he falls for Albert Square’s only openly gay resident, caterer Christian Clarke. The pair will be shown snogging in scenes expected to shock and offend conservative Muslims. Homosexuality is traditionally deemed forbidden by Islamic law and the Koran. Syed – played by Marc Elliott, 29 – arrived in Walford in April, with his girlfriend Amira Shah (Preeya Kalidas). But in the storyline to air next month, it is revealed Syed has been desperately trying to repress his true sexuality.

Viewers will see him struggle to reconcile his feelings for charmer Christian (John Partridge) with his religious beliefs. He also has to deal with the horrified reaction of his family – dad Mas and the Square’s sharp-tongued ex-postmistress Zainab. – The BBC1 soap’s executive producer Diederick Santer said the dramatic scenes are designed to appeal to 21st century Brits. – He said: “We’ve always tried to make EastEnders reflect modern life in multicultural Britain and we’ve always told social issue stories relevant to our diverse audience.

BBC udnævner muslim til chef for religiøse udsendelser

Filed under: Demografi, Dhimmi, Immigration, Islam, Medier DR m.fl., Politisk korrekte, UK — Tags: , , — Hodja @ 11:41

The BBC’s director-general Mark Thompson has said that religious broadcasting gives rise to more controversy in his job than any other subject.

I am afraid he hasn’t seen anything yet.

On Monday, the Corporation announced that it has appointed a Muslim as head of religious broadcasting. This is not a joke, I can assure you.

The person responsible for overseeing the BBC’s — so far — largely Christian output will be Aaqil Ahmed, a practising Muslim.

Serb authorities in Bosnia-Hercegovina have been ordered to pay $42m (£26m) to local Muslims for the destruction of mosques during the Bosnian civil war.

All 16 mosques in Banja Luka, the main town of the Serb-run Republika Srpska, were destroyed in the 1992-1995 war.

A lawyer for the area’s Muslim community said the local court verdict was of historic importance.

Jahiliyya. Dette er en del af muslimske teologi. Historien skal tjene teologien.

Islamabad, 22 Feb. 2007 (AKI/DAWN) – Religious parties in Pakistan’s National Assembly are contesting the teaching of Pakistan’s pre-Islamic history in schools. Members of the six-party Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) staged a token protest walkout Wednesday over the inclusion of chapters about Hinduism, Buddhism and the ancient emperor Chandragupta Maurya in the history textbooks for senior classes after a heated discussion.

Five MMA members had raised the history textbook issue through a call-attention notice, but their claim that the inclusion of chapters they considered objectionable had caused a “grave concern amongst the public” was disputed by education minister Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli and some other ruling coalition members, who accused the religious parties of seeking to keep students ignorant about glorious periods of the sub-continent’s history such as the Indus Valley or Gandhara civilisations.

But the authors of the notice described the changes as part of what they saw as a government attempt to secularise the educational curricula.

“That may be your history, (but) … our history (starts) from Mecca and Medina,” MMA member Farid Ahmad Piracha shouted as he led his alliance’s walkout when the sessio chairman allowed party a Muslim League MP to voice his support for the chapters even after the speaker had referred the matter to a house standing committee for more discussion.

The speaker repeatedly said there was no harm in studying pre-Islamic history for the sake of knowledge as he and his contemporaries did in schools, colleges and universities but, to an apparent surprise of the treasury benches, accepted an MMA demand to refer the matter to the standing committee, which the alliance members could use to continue the controversy.

The education minsiter earlier told the house that the decision to include the new chapters – the like of which existed in old history books but were removed at some later stage – was taken by an inter-provincial committee which also included ulema and rejected allegations that Islamic chapters were being deleted or curtailed from the curricula.

“If you don’t regard the history of Moenjodaro and Harappa as your heritage, then you may delete it. But if you are proud of it then students must know about it,” she said.

Mere hos Every Kinda People.

The Muslim march the BBC didn’t let you see

The first was filmed outside the Israeli Embassy in London a fortnight ago.

It shows graphically the extent to which the police have lost the ability and the will to face down threats and violence from angry Muslims (compare this pathetic retreat with the truncheon-wielding head-cracking of peaceful Countryside Alliance demonstrators outside Parliament).

The second five minutes of film was shot by an iron-nerved team from BNPtv in Blackburn on Sunday 11th January. As you’ll see the first short section is silent, but still gives a good impression of the scale of the protest.

Despite – or rather, because of – the size of the demo, and its exclusively Muslim nature, none of the broadcast media or national newspapers carried a single word on the story. The BBC in particular gave extensive air-time to rival pro-Palestinian and pro-Israeli protests in London over the same weekend, and mentioned a left-wing rally in Manchester, but all covered up what was probably the largest Islamic protest march in the UK since the Bradford book-burnings against Salman Rushdie and free speech twenty years ago.

The main camera crew, which included Burnley BNP Councillor Derek Dawson and former Blackburn BNP Councillor Robin Evans, were threatened with arrest and escorted out of the town by the police. A second back-up crew with an amateur video camera, however, were not picked up by the police and managed to attend the protest rally itself. This was held in Blackburn’s Corporation Park and included a short but inflammatory speech by Tony Blair’s sister-in-law Lauren Booth, which was recorded under very difficult circumstances by our brave volunteers.

UK – bundet og kneblet

Galliawatch skriver:

After the London attacks, BBC reporters began an in-depth inquiry to better understand the defenders of terrorism and its social and religious outcomes on their soil.

The result of this investigation was supposed to lead to a television documentary in which the reporters would explain “how Muslims of British citizenship, having grown up in London, had become terrorists and provoked the death of dozens of people.”

Journalist Nick Cohen of the Jerusalem Post, wrote that “it was one of the most impressive and audacious (not to say explosive) documentaries that the BBC would ever broadcast.”

But since the religious element predominated in this investigation, the network’s administrators decided to stop the investigation and to call back the reporters, on the pretext that “this documentary smells of Islamophobia and runs the risk of offending the Muslim population of Great Britain and the world.”

One Year Analysis: The BBC in 2007

Honest reporting vurderer BBC i 2007.

Rapporten konkluderer vedrørende rapporteringen af Israel-Palæstina konflikten:

  • In 2007, the BBC showed a greater interest in covering attacks in which Palestinians were the victims than in attacks targeting Israelis. The fact that only six articles were published about specific rocket terror attacks, despite the fact that the number of attacks increased dramatically in 2007, is a glaring omission.
  • The BBC is hesitant to use headlines that treat Palestinian attacks the same as those from the Israeli Defense Forces. This, despite the fact that Palestinian attacks can clearly be defined as terror attacks against civilians, and the IDF actions are clearly targeting terrorists. There is a great difference between “Israeli Planes Strike Gaza Strip” and “Rocket Injures Dozens in Israel.”
  • Anyone whose knowledge of the Israeli Palestinian conflict was limited to images on the BBC website would come away with the impression that Israel was almost always the aggressor and the Palestinians the victims.

Hvide mennesker kan ikke udsættes for tortur

Released sailors tell of ordeal

Royal Navy personnel seized by Iran were blindfolded, bound and held in isolation during their 13 days in captivity, the crew have said.
They were lined up while weapons were cocked, making them “fear the worst”, one of the 15 freed sailors revealed.

The crew were told that if they did not admit they were in Iranian waters when captured that they faced seven years in prison, a press conference heard.

Royal Marine Joe Tindell told how they feared for their lives in prison.

“We had a blindfold and plastic cuffs, hands behind our backs, heads against the wall. Basically there were weapons cocking. Someone, I’m not sure who, someone said, I quote ‘lads, lads I think we’re going to get executed’.”

“After that comment someone was sick and as far as I was concerned he had just had his throat cut.”

Opposing their captors was “not an option,” they said.

And after the 15 marines and sailors were seized they were subjected to random interrogation and rough handling, and faced constant psychological pressure, they said.

Det overraskende svar kommer her:

BBC staff travel 125 million miles a year by air

Blimey, that’s a lot. 30 million miles further than the Sun. Commenter J.G. writes :  Fed up as I was with the constant bleating about man-made global warming we get on the BBC, I thought I would find out just what they are doing to help the planet. So I put in a FOI request asking about the air miles the BBC fly, the carbon that this produces, and how the BBC offsets this. Get ready for some amazing numbers (all relate to the last reporting year):

Total UK domestic flights: 17 million miles

Total European flights: 14 million miles Other flights: 94 million miles

Total air miles: 125 million

Total cost: £15,147,000

TOTAL CO2 EMISSIONS: 25,676,000 Kgs

TOTAL CO2 OFFSET: 0 kgs. Yes, 0 Kg.

The FOI document is here.

“Within the BBC, opinion ran strongly against the invasion of Iraq in 2003.
Most staff felt war was unjustified; feelings intensified by their contempt for President George Bush.
On Today we occasionally allowed the case for war to be made, but the prevailing tone was doom-laden. Arguing for a better balance was a thankless task: at one meeting I said our coverage was too anti-war; the editor’s response was brusque.
“That’s a very dangerous view,” Kevin Marsh, who took over as Today’s editor in 2002, told me. Dangerous to whom? I wondered.”

Envidere skriver han:

“In late 2003 the Today programme became obsessed with the ‘human rights’ of detainees at Guantanamo Bay.At a planning meeting I argued that ‘human rights’ are contingent and that fanatical Islamists cannot expect to be treated as innocent victims.

Afterwards, a BBC trainee confided that she often found herself thinking along similar lines but felt unable to speak up.”

“In 1984 I returned to BBC Scotland after covering the Tory conference in Brighton. The IRA had come close to assassinating Margaret Thatcher with a bomb and the country was in shock.

Apart, that is, from some of my BBC colleagues. “Pity they missed the bitch,” one confided to me.”

As the 1997 Election approached, the Government was constantly on the defensive and the BBC was often happy to do Labour’s Opposition work for it.”

“In 1999 the news was dominated by Nato’s war against Serbia. The BBC was supportive, in contrast to its sceptical attitude to the Falklands and the first Gulf wars.
Why the difference? At the time Tony Blair enjoyed uncritical support within the BBC, as did President Bill Clinton.”

“As one senior news presenter told me: “Anybody who attacks the Labour Government is always coming from the Left, and the Tories are written off as insane or – if there’s the slightest chance of them getting anywhere – evil.”

“One presenter described the sense of superiority that working at the BBC confers on its staff.
“It’s the whole thing that ‘we know best’ and it’s our responsibility to educate the poor unfortunates beneath us in how things should be.”

“The erstwhile young rebels who changed the BBC in the Sixties and Seventies are now the Establishment, and their views, once so radical, have become an ossified consensus – just like the ones they replaced.
However, there is a big difference: the old Establishment was undermined by media scrutiny; the new Establishment is the media. Who can debunk it?”

In May 2001, BBC fabricated a film clip in an attempt to show Israeli brutality. When Israelis struck a Palestinian base in Gaza, there were no pictures of victims — since Israel struck at empty buildings. But BBC editors inserted a film clip of Israeli victims of Palestinian terror arriving at an Israeli hospital, to suggest that these were victims of Israeli attack. The newsreader in London, a former BBC correspondent in Israel herself, ended the segment with “These are the pictures from Gaza.

“BBC’s bias is perhaps summed up best by one of its own employees, Fayad Abu Shamala, the BBC correspondent in Gaza for the past 10 years. Speaking at a Hamas rally on May 6, 2001, he declared:

“Journalists and media organizations [are] waging the campaign shoulder-to-shoulder together with the Palestinian people.”
