Storbritannien kan bruge landsforræderi-lov fra 1351 mod tilbagevendte ISIS terrorister

Britain may use a medieval law dating to 1351 to charge citizens with treason if they go to fight with Islamic State insurgents in Iraq and Syria, Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond said.

Hammond said any British citizen who had sworn personal allegiance to the so-called Islamic State could have committed an offense under the Treason Act of 1351, which was passed during the reign of English King Edward III.

“We have seen people declaring that they have sworn personal allegiance to the so-called Islamic State, that does raise questions about their loyalty and allegiance to this country and about whether the offense of treason could have been committed,” he said, adding he would bring the issue to the attention of Home Secretary (interior minister) Theresa May.

The maximum sentence for treason in Britain is life imprisonment; it was death until 1998. The last person to be hanged for treason in Britain was William Joyce, a propagandist for Nazi Germany nicknamed Lord Haw Haw who broadcast to Britain during World War Two and who was executed in 1946.

6 grunde til at panikke over ebola

As a rule, one should not panic at whatever crisis has momentarily fixed the attention of cable news producers.

But the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, which has migrated to both Europe and America, may be the exception that proves the rule. There are at least six reasons that a controlled, informed panic might be in order.

Skal vi lukke grænserne?

As the Ebola crisis surges to the top issue on the minds of Americans, a new poll finds that 82 percent of those following the issue closely want to quarantine anybody who has recently traveled to the virus-stricken nations.

The Economist/YouGov poll found that women are more concerned than men and would refuse entry to anybody from those nations. Just 16 percent would allow them into the nation.

The poll is the latest proof that the nation is in an Ebola frenzy that believes Washington and President Obama have fallen down on their job of protecting Americans. For the first time in two months of polling on the issue, more Americans disapprove of the president’s handling of the issue than approve.

But the headline is support for banning or quarantining those who have been in the Ebola countries. That is a far more hardline view than limiting or ending flights from the countries, of which there are few.

— 72 percent of all polled believe “we should quarantine people who have recently been in any of the countries in western Africa where there is a major Ebola outbreak.”

— 82 percent of those following the issue very closely want a quarantine

— 56 percent said the federal government should bar those who have “recently” been in Ebola nations from entering the U.S. It rises to 66 percent for those following the issue closely.

Imens øger HusseinObama importen af potentielle smittebærere.

According to the Washington Post, the number of visas issued to Liberians by the United States has spiked, with about 3,500 visitor visas granted to Liberians last year, and another 10,000 granted to people from Guinea and Sierra Leone during that same time period. The Post also reported that Liberians also have a very high rate of “visa overstays.”

Og vi skal bruge billioner af kroner på imaginære trusler, men hvor meget bliver der brugt på en særdeles realistisk fare, hvor der hverken findes vaccine eller medicinsk behandling.
