Filed under: Islam, Muhammed Cartoons, Norge, Politisk korrekte, Sverige — Hodja @ 22:35

Alle vet at ideologier står for fall.

Former Danish soldier in Operation Desert Storm returns medal to Saudi

Alfredo Gunfighter skriver:

“Det var en fejl af undertegnede og titusinder af andre fra Vesten, at vi stillede op for at forsvare Deres land og hjælpe med til at befri Kuwait fra Saddam Hussein og hans bande. Det indser jeg i dag.

Jeg sender Dem hermed et stk. metalskrot tilbage med tak for lån.

Måske kan metallet omsmeltes til en lille figur af profeten, som De kan have stående på skrivebordet i ambassaden.

Why striking bus drivers in Tehran are the real defenders of Muslim rights

For three weeks, there have been demonstrations across the planet about a great injustice done to Muslims. After baton-wielding cops inflicted dozens of injuries, the fear of death is in the air. George W Bush’s State Department has warned of ‘systematic oppression’, while secularists and fundamentalists have revealed their mutually incompatible values. Since you ask, I am not talking about the global menace of Scandinavian cartoonists that has so terrified our fearless free press, but mass arrests in Iran.

The media have barely mentioned the story, even though it cuts through the nonsense about a clash of civilisations between the ‘West’ and the ‘Muslims’. The Muslims of Tehran are proving themselves to be anything but a monolithic bloc happy to follow the orders of the ayatollahs and their demented President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. There are huge class divisions to begin with, and close to the bottom of the heap are the city’s bus drivers. The authorities refused to allow them an independent trade union and ruled that an ‘Islamic council’ in the offices of the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company would represent their interests. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the pious have not proved the doughtiest fighters for better pay and conditions. The bus drivers claimed that managers were stealing money from their pay packets. They formed their own union and threatened to strike at the end of January.

………………………….

The company’s managers and Islamic council called in the paramilitary police who arrested the union’s six officers and beat workers until they agreed to renounce the strike. Bravely, the majority refused. The state’s thugs then targeted their wives and children

…………………………

No one knows how many people the authorities arrested. The highest figure the British TUC has heard is 1,300. International trade union federations and the British embassy in Tehran estimate that somewhere between 400 and 600 people are still in prison.

……………………….

It cannot be said often enough that this is not a clash of civilisations but a civil war within the Islamic world between theocratic reaction and the beleaguered forces of liberty and modernity. As I have tried to emphasise, the best service the rich world’s liberal left can render is to get on the right side for once.

Guidelines for use of the twelve Mohammed cartoons

The danish association of journalists have meade the use of the Muhammed cartoons free for use for “if this is done in connection with editorial coverage  in newsmedia or similar media in a manner which complies with the rules of internationally accepted press ethics – www.ifj.org.”

The prize for showing them is 250 Euro each. The caroonists does not want the fee for themselves, but want it to go to a prize for cartoonists.

I googled for “Muhammed cartoons” and got 657.000 hits – so it may be a fat prize 🙂

CALVIN AND HOBBES — AND MUHAMMAD

By Ann Coulter Wed Feb 8, 8:16 PM ET

As my regular readers know, I’ve long been skeptical of the “Religion of Peace” moniker for Muslims — for at least 3,000 reasons right off the top of my head. I think the evidence is going my way this week.

The culture editor of a newspaper in Denmark suspected writers and cartoonists were engaging in self-censorship when it came to the Religion of Peace. It was subtle things, like a Danish comedian’s statement, paraphrased by The New York Times, “that he had no problem urinating on the Bible but that he would not dare do the same to the Quran.”

So, after verifying that his life insurance premiums were paid up, the editor expressly requested cartoons of Muhammad from every cartoonist with a Danish cartoon syndicate. Out of 40 cartoonists, only 10 accepted the invitation, most of them submitting utterly neutral drawings with no political content whatsoever.

But three cartoons made political points.

One showed Muhammad turning away suicide bombers from the gates of heaven, saying “Stop, stop — we ran out of virgins!” — which I believe was a commentary on Muslims’ predilection for violence. Another was a cartoon of Muhammad with horns, which I believe was a commentary on Muslims’ predilection for violence. The third showed Muhammad with a turban in the shape of a bomb, which I believe was an expression of post-industrial ennui in a secular — oops, no, wait: It was more of a commentary on Muslims’ predilection for violence.

In order to express their displeasure with the idea that Muslims are violent, thousands of Muslims around the world engaged in rioting, arson, mob savagery, flag-burning, murder and mayhem, among other peaceful acts of nonviolence.

Muslims are the only people who make feminists seem laid-back.

The little darlings brandish placards with typical Religion of Peace slogans, such as: “Behead Those Who Insult Islam,” “Europe, you will pay, extermination is on the way” and “Butcher those who mock Islam.” They warn Europe of their own impending 9/11 with signs that say: “Europe: Your 9/11 will come” — which is ironic, because they almost had me convinced the Jews were behind the 9/11 attack.

The rioting Muslims claim they are upset because Islam prohibits any depictions of Muhammad — though the text is ambiguous on beheadings, suicide bombings and flying planes into skyscrapers.

The belief that Islam forbids portrayals of Muhammad is recently acquired. Back when Muslims created things, rather than blowing them up, they made paintings, frescoes, miniatures and prints of Muhammad.

But apparently the Quran is like the Constitution: It’s a “living document,” capable of sprouting all-new provisions at will. Muslims ought to start claiming the Quran also prohibits indoor plumbing, to explain their lack of it.

Other interpretations of the Quran forbid images of humans or animals, which makes even a child’s coloring book blasphemous. That’s why the Taliban blew up those priceless Buddhist statues, bless their innocent, peace-loving little hearts.

Largely unnoticed in this spectacle is the blinding fact that one nation is missing from the long list of Muslim countries (by which I mean France and England) with hundreds of crazy Muslims experiencing bipolar rage over some cartoons:

Iraq. Hey — maybe this democracy thing does work! The barbaric behavior of Europe’s Muslims suggests that the European welfare state may not be attracting your top-notch Muslims.. Hey — maybe this democracy thing does work! The barbaric behavior of Europe’s Muslims suggests that the European welfare state may not be attracting your top-notch Muslims.

Making the rash assumption for purposes of discussion that Islam is a religion and not a car-burning cult, even a real religion can’t go bossing around other people like this.

Catholics aren’t short on rules, but they couldn’t care less if non-Catholics use birth control. Conservative Jews have no interest in forbidding other people from mixing meat and dairy. Protestants don’t make a peep about other people eating food off one another’s plates. (Just stay away from our plates — that’s disgusting.)

But Muslims think they can issue decrees about what images can appear in newspaper cartoons. Who do they think they are, liberals?

The first cartoon war victim

Not many of us realize that The Jyllands-Posten Cartoonists were not the first victims of the cartoon war between the Western Democracies and Islam.

A young Israeli citizen, Tatiana Sushkin, an immigrant from the former Soviet Union, was arrested in June 1997 by the Israeli police for trying to attach one of her drawings, which depicted Muhammad as a pig on one of the Hebron shops.

UK: KEY FACTS ON IMMIGRATION

Net migration into the UK has averaged 166,000 a year over the last 7 years. [1]
The UK’s population is projected to rise by  7.2 million from 2004 to 2031 – 6.0 million (83%) of this rise is due to immigration.[2] That’s equivalent to a two cities the size of Cambridge every year, or 6 cities the size of Birmingham over the 27 year period, needing to be built because of immigration.[3]
59,000 new homes will be required in England each year for the next 17 years for immigrants.[4]
In 2004 12.0 million non-EU nationals arrived in the UK[5]. How many left? No one knows – we have no embarkation controls.
In Inner London 57% of all births are to foreign-born mothers. [6]
70% of net international migration is to London. In recent years a net 100,000 migrants a year have been arriving in London and there has been a net movement of 100,000 existing residents from London to the rest of the UK.[7]
The cost of running the Immigration and Nationality Department of the Home Office rose from £300 million in 1998-1999 to 1.9 billion in 2003-4.[8] Legal aid costs of £170m a year are additional.
England is one of the most densely populated countries in the world. It has nearly twice the population density of Germany, 4 times that of France and 12 times that of the USA.
Since 1997 about 376,000 asylum seekers have been refused permission to stay here but only 85,000 have been recorded as having been removed from the UK. [9]
And those with families whose claims have failed continue to receive benefits worth an average of £15,000 a year tax free.[10]
